Terms of early access

These terms cover the BARZEL private early-access / preview program on barzel.dev. By submitting an early-access application or using a private onboard link, you agree to these terms.

Preview product

BARZEL early access is a private, invite-only preview. Features, APIs, packaging, and docs may change without notice. There is no public install URL. Access is granted at BARZEL ops’ discretion and may be revoked.

Observe-first posture

Early-access installs ship observe-first with BARZEL_ENFORCE=0. In observe mode BARZEL classifies and recommends; it does not apply host-mutating enforcement. Enabling enforce requires explicit dual-gate configuration by operators who understand the risk. You are responsible for the hosts you install on and for keeping enforce disabled unless you deliberately opt in.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate application information.
  • Keep invite/onboard links private; they are single-use / limited-use credentials.
  • Use BARZEL only on systems you are authorized to operate.
  • Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, invite controls, or classifier fail-closed behavior.
  • Do not reverse-engineer or redistribute private packs beyond your authorized seat without written permission.

Intellectual property

BARZEL software, branding, docs, and site content remain owned by their respective owners. Early access does not transfer ownership. The public GitHub repository for BARZEL remains private unless the owner publishes it.

No warranty

THE PREVIEW IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Host-policy software can deny or fail closed; you accept downtime and false positives/negatives as possible outcomes.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BARZEL and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from use of the preview or inability to use it.

Personal data handling for applications and email is described in the Privacy page.

Changes

We may update these terms for the preview. Continued use after posting changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms for ongoing preview access.
